The 2 mains for £22 offer drew us here, as we have a large family. We had a lovely evening, cosy atmosphere and a very good range of food to choose from on the menu. Drink options equally good. The trillionaires chocolate dessert was outstanding, gluten free too. We will definitely be back.

We went to the Last Inn last Sunday as a family group of 16, meeting up from various parts of the country and had pre booked our meals for 1.30pm. We had a considerable wait before the people with starters were served. It was maybe 2 hours later when we were asked if we were ready for desserts.... Unfortunately, still waiting for our main courses! After another considerable wait, although we were told the meals were being plated up, we asked what was happening. The mains eventually arrived, vegetables in short supply and just heaped on the plates. Meat upon the plates was tasty and plentiful. We had a further lengthy wait for desserts, had to clear our dirty plates, ask for spoons and 2 of our grandchildren helped to bring desserts to the table. Altogether a very disappointing experience although hilarious as it was all so unbelievable. The staff serving were not to blame. The management of the Last Inn need to completely review the service which they are trying to deliver.

Very disappointed experience. Pre booked a Christmas meal for 16 people, all travelling from around the uk to meet up. Was told that we had to pre order our meals to accommodate the kitchen which we did way before the 48 hour deadline set by the last. Arrived at 1.25 for a 1.30 meal. Got our drink orders and then proceeded to wait approx an hour before being served starters. The restaurant was busy, but it seemed from looking around all meals were slow coming out of the kitchen. Meals were from the Sunday and christmas set menu. there was only a small number of the party ordering starters. The children's soup was a spicy parsnip soup that wasn't suitable for a child at all. 2 hours after arriving and still no mains for anyone, the staff came over and asked if we were ready for our puddings. When confronted they informed us that there was a mess up in the kitchen and that we would be served immediately (no apology given). 15 min later, 14 of our meals arrived and then the final 2 10 min after the main party, again no apology. Once finished we decided to inform the staff we had finished to try and speed up the deserts that had been pre ordered so we could leave. That took another 45 min so all in all, 3 hours to have a 2 course set menu. Fully understand that we were a big party and they admitted they messed up but the lack of communication throughout the whole day was shocking. This is the 3rd experience at the last and the service has been slow, but 3 hours to serve a pre ordered 2 course meal is really poor.

If there was an option for no stars I would have chosen that. Absolutely appalling as a pre booked table we waiting 3 hours for food. We were asked if we wanted deserts although we hadn’t even had our mains at this point. If you can’t handle big parties don’t accept them. Every member of staff were completely incompetent and clearly the kitchen were too. You should be embarrassed

I have been here quite a few times for the quiz night and we really enjoy it !! The food is of a good standard and the service is usually high standard however, on this visit my table of 4 ordered at the same time but 2 of our meals didn't arrive until after the 2 that did were eaten !! Bit of a shame to what was otherwise a good evening !! More staff required I would advise !! The waitress that took my complaint was brilliant, very understanding !! I felt sorry for her being under so much pressure as the place was very busy. We will definitely be back !!

Popped in for Sunday lunch, its changed a lot since our last visit. Inside is plain but clean. Outside needs a little touch up, maybe flowers! Food was lovely, though I had to actively ask for gravy for my roast, it was served dry! Certainly quiet for a Sunday.

A regular haunt of ours and always our go-to restaurant for steak, but our last visited disappointed. We went to celebrate my partners birthday, and she always says 'The Last Inn for steak' whenever I ask her where she wants to go. Why were we disappointed? Well, we expect really good things from this venue, great tasting steak, well matured, fleshy to the touch and cooked to the temperature asked for (we are both medium rare people), but this time both steaks were over cooked, abd when I say this, I mean they were medium to well done. Still eatable, but not as enjoyable - not for us anyway. No complaints to the staff as we were on a tight schedule, and the food was very tasty, just not what we had ordered, plus the poor chap (he was on his own) was run off his feet meeting, greeting and seating, plus being the barman and the server. Still our favourite restaurant for steak!

This aThisfternoon I had afternoon tea with friends. I was a bit unsure what to expect as I can't eat dairy but having let them know in advance they didn't disappoint. Sandwiches were full size ones, not tint crustless squares as is often the case and the fillings were also different, being tasty bacon and peppers and also roasted Mediterranean veg. My dessert was lovely little chocolate tarts and my favourite was the dairy free cheesecake! It was delicious. Highly recommended.

Wednesday evening visit and a few tables making an ok atmosphere. Quite a big dining area with a bar area for just drinks. Was cosy enough although it could have done with being a bit warmer. Had the Last Inn Ale which was quite good then ordered the risotto and chicken. Took a while to come but was worth the wait. Very nicely cooked and tasty with green beans. Good portion size but a price tag of £15.50. Not exactly value for money for some rice and chicken, but then again, what is? Spent about an hour in the venue. Although service was efficient it was standard. Could have done with a little more atmosphere, music, log fire, tv screen or something. I would visit again as it sounds like the Sunday dinner is an epic. Plenty of parking across the road. Clean restaurant with a contemporary feel. A Cross between Old style pub and modern restaurant. Still had a wonky table which made for 5 minutes of entertainment trying to balance it up.

My first time visiting and on a Sunday. The large roast was delicious with an added Yorkshire pudding. My partner had the half roast chicken and she said it was perfect. Excellent service, food came out fast. Lovely view of the Wrekin from the garden. We will definitley be coming back..
